“I never imagined such team bonding and learning on a remote island like Lakshadweep. From fishing with locals to helping in a cafe, I gained deep insights into their challenges and resource management. Taking back lots of inspiration and sunshine.“
Kavaratti
Khaja, a local from Kavaratti Island, has always been passionate about rural development. After earning a master’s in rural development, he focused his research on the potential of rural tourism on his island. Khaja knows every inch of Kavaratti, but his true magic lies beneath the waves. Having spent more of his life underwater than on land, he’s become the island's ultimate guide—whether navigating coral reefs or sharing marine stories. Past visitors rave about Khaja’s hospitality and infectious enthusiasm. Need something special? He’ll make it happen. It’s no wonder travelers leave with a deep love for both the island and its unforgettable host.
Flying from Cochin to Agatti and taking the ferry from Agatti to Kavaratti will occupy Day 1. Activities include a visit to the local market, an island cycling tour, an island walk, a heritage walk, a visit to a local product manufacturing site, snorkeling, scuba diving, painting by the beach, football, volleyball, local meals, and sky watching. The day is filled with the island spirit.
Work with a women's empowerment group in Lakshadweep. These women were housewives, but two years ago, due to an administrative change, their husbands lost their jobs. To support their families, they started a local food café. We collaborate with them to understand the community behind the scenes.
Stay in a local beach house with an ocean view, cycle around the island, and enjoy personalized meals from a local chef.
Work with locals, offering participants the opportunity to observe local challenges and use their expertise to help solve them.
Mission: Build bonds, get to know each other, gain inspiration, combine different perspectives, and ignite a problem-solving mindset.
Stay: An immersive local stay in a remote island home facing the sea.
Activity: Khaja, the local host, made everyone feel at home on the 5km-long remote island, with local food and love. Conversations sparked as we worked with a women's self-help group that runs a café featuring local delicacies.
And then what happened?
Magic of Island and Local Communities
The day would start with: swimming, snorkeling, and diving underwater. Afternoons were dedicated to brainstorming sessions and aligning company strategies.
In the early evenings: The team would work with the women's self-help group and explore the island on bicycles. Khaja, the local host, took the team on island walks, history walks, and heritage learning walks, making the experiences rich and immersive.
Additional activities: Dancing with local folk dancers and fishing with local fishermen were new experiences for everyone. Nature and the ocean rekindled their childlike wonder, creating deep bonds.
Outcome: The team returned with local products and experiences, deeply connected, with an aligned vision, empathy, and collaborative energy.
Be part of our community and make a difference!
